Gili Trawangan

Today we took a shuttle bus about an hour to a boat, which was about another hour to Gili Trawangan. It was a very relaxing boat ride, we sat on the roof/deck, with our feet dangling over the water... nothing like cruising through the waters of Bali/Lombak, with beautiful views listening to Jack Johnson, Ben Haper etc.

We had lunch on the water, I got Rai Grilled Fish, its fresh BBQ fish, with green herbs, roasted garlic potatoes, veggies and Balinese sambal matah. Right as we got off the boat the clouds darkened and a thunderstorm passed through. On this island of Gili Trawangan, there are no automobiles, which is pretty cool, everyone rides around bikes or horse carriages. There also are no police, there is just a "head of the village.” Everyone is so friendly and I don't feel unsafe in any way.

We got dinner at a food market along the water, I had grilled tuna, it was fresh, delicious and cheap! We then went out to a bar with live music, then we went to Blue Marlin, which was more of a club with techno music... so over that.
