We arrived in Kuala Lumpur, walked
around China Town for a bit, grabbed a bite to eat and called it an
early night, in order to get up early the next day.
After a great night sleep we woke up
bright and early. We were out beginning our journey for the day
before the hustle and bustle of the city streets and before the
extreme heat around 8am. It was quite calming to be outside on the
streets before the craziness of traffice, people and vendors.
Our first stop was the Petronas Towers,
pretty amazing twin towers. We also walked around the water park,
and got whistled at (go figure) by the security guards when trying to
play on the children's see saw. We walked to Jalan Alor Street,
right off of Jalan Bukit Bintang, which is a popular place for street
stalls and hawlker stands with lots of yummy spicy food.
After a mini rain session, maybe 3
minutes of rain(which did not cool things down one bit), we walked to
the Art Gallery, Mereka Square and Central Market. We also chatted
it up with a local, finding out the best places to go out at night.
At night we went back to the Petronas
Towers, which look awesome lit up at night, and to watch a light
show. We then went out around Jalan Ramlee, which was more of a
clubby area, not really our scene. We stayed a bit, then went back
around China Town to “Reggae Bar” which had good music so we
started a dance party there.
